まず、製作中のアルバムについておうかがいします。
V recordingsからのリリースということで、単一アーティストのものとすればRONI SIZE以来ではないかと思います。アルバムの全体的なコンセプトや、他のアーティストのコラボレーション予定などについて教えてください。
First, I’d like you to tell us about the album , which you have been working on.
It will be released from the V recordings and I think it would be the 2nd individual album from V recordings since Roni Size's. Could you tell us about the whole concept of the album and any producers who you are working with?
2007年の初め頃からこのアルバムの制作に取りかかってきたんだけど、いろんなスタイルのDrum & BassやJungleを自分達らしいサウンドで表現することを目標として曲作りをしてきたよ。DJ KrustをはじめD Bridge、Marky、Lynxと、様々なプロデューサーと一緒に曲作りをしたし、今もDJ Dieとの制作途中の曲があるんだ。あとはRoy Davis JuniorやDRS、Ben Westbeech、Steoといったボーカリストを起用した楽曲も収録予定だ。もちろんA.I.らしいトラックもいくつか収められるけどね！
We have been working on the album consistently since the start of 2007, We aim focus on all the different styles incorporated in d&b/jungle giving it our own special individual touch using our prouduction. We have been working with various producers from DJ Krust, D Bridge, Marky, Lynx, Still yet to finish a track with Die. We have also used various vocalists, Roy Davis Junr, DRS, Ben Westbeech, Steo to name a few, We also have some straight forward ai tracks on there.

特にDie & Krustとのコラボレーション予定があると聞いてとても興奮しました。彼らにオファーをした経緯や製作の近況について教えてください。
I am very excited to find out you will collaborate with Die & Krust on the new album.
Tell us about how you hooked up and what it’s like working with them.
Krustとはお互いの曲のファンでずっと一緒に曲作りしたいなと言ってたんだ。Krustは自分がどんな音を作りたいか、いろんなサウンドをどうやって誰も聞いた事のないようなテリトリーにまで昇華させるかということをちゃんと知ってる。だからアルバム製作中にKrustが参加したがってるっていうのを聞いたときは、一緒に制作をするのに最高の人物だと思ったよ！もちろん仲もいいしね。もともとはBryan Geeを通して連絡とり始めたのがきっかけだったんだよね。
We've been speaking to Krust for a while over the years and we have all been fans of eachothers works. We also got on really well so when he heard we were doing an album he wanted to be involved. Krust is great to work with, He knows exactly what he wants and he knows how to bend any sound to unimaginable territories.. Die we have also been in touch with through the years and Bryan Gee linked us up with him..

次に、去年からスタートしたIntegral recordsについてです。
今までのリリースをみると、Survival、Zero Tolerance、Heist、Lomaxとバランスの良いアーティストが続いていますね。改めてレーベルコンセプトやアーティストを評価しているポイントなどについて教えてください。
Next question is about your new project "Integral records" which began last year.
You have many good producers such as Survival、Zero Tolerance、Heist and Lomax.
Tell us about the concept of the label and how you appreciate those producers.
Integral recodsはとても良い状況にあると思うよ。これからリリース予定の物もみんなをサプライズさせるようないいラインナップが揃ってるしね。僕らの周りには才能がある奴らが沢山いて、だったらレーベルを作って作品を世に送り出そう！って決めたんだ。僕らが求める基準に達してる楽曲であれば、誰が作ろうがどんなスタイルであろうが、リリースしていきたいと思ってるよ。
Integral has been a real success or us over the last year and we have plently of suprises lined up. We had so much talent around us that we decided to create the label and pool in our chosen tracks. As long as the music reaches a standard we are looking for, whomever you are and what ever style then we will be on you...

先ほどの質問でも言及した、Survival、Zero Tolerance、Heist、LomaxはじめAlix Perez、Lynxなどドラムンベースシーンではディープ系のプロデューサーが台頭してきていると個人的に感じています。それについてどうお考えですか？
また、そういったシーンの流れの中でA.I.がとるべきと考えるポジションとは？
As I mentioned in my last question, many deep style drum & bass producers such as Survival, Zero Tolerance, Heist , Lomax , Alix Perez and Lynx, I think that they have been distinguishing themselves in the scene recently. What do you think about it? Where do you see yourselves in the scene.
僕らはSoulful, Liquidといったカテゴリーに括られがちだけど、僕らの楽曲をよく知ってる人達はそれだけじゃないってわかってくれていると思う。このアルバムを通してフルストーリーを伝えていこう、って決めたんだ。ジャンルによってキレイにカテゴライズされるような、そういう音作りはしていきたくないんだ。
A.I.はA.I.として位置づけられる、そんな風になりたいと思っているよ。
We have been bracketed a lot into the more soulful. liquid style but anyone who knows all our music well knows that this is not the case. We have made sure that the album tells the full story. We like be classed in our own category, not to be pigeonhold amongst a genre

数年前のKnowledge Magazineでのインタビューで「音楽でビートだけではなく物語を伝えたい。」と答えていたのを憶えています。あなた達が発表するトラック、DJプレイの随所にそれを感じますしA.I.のアーティストとしての魅力の一つなのかと思います。ドラムンベースシーンを越えた音楽フィールドでの活動意欲などあれば教えてください。
I read the article in Knowledge mag a few years ago, and I remember you said you want to tell stories through you music. And I really feel that from your tunes and also your DJ style.
I guess that is the reason why the producers, “Artificial Intelligence” appeal to us.
Are you interested in producing other genres of music?
僕らのDJプレイや楽曲でストーリーを語っていきたいし、
聞いてくれている人達をそこではないどこかへ連れていくよう、
旅にでも連れて行くような感じかな？（笑）
それはいつも心がけているよ。
これからも様々なジャンルの音楽を作っていきたいと思っているし、
みんなも僕らの今後を楽しみにしていてほしいと思っている。
Wet try to build a journey. story in most of our sets and music. We are certainly going to be producting all music in many different genres. Watch this space.
